“When this new lounge opens, it will become part of the world-class amenities available to travelers in the stunning new Terminal A at Newark Liberty Airport.” Centurion Lounge OpeningsĪs this is the 10-year anniversary of the Centurion Lounge Network, the announcement is significant for the brand, which has more than 40 locations around the world. “The Port Authority is committed to elevating the travel experience for the nearly 14 million passengers expected to use the new Terminal A this year,” said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton. Although there are other lounges in Terminal A, the Centurion Lounge will be the first from a credit card issuer. The lounge will be the first for American Express within the Newark airport, set to be part of a new, three-story building being constructed near the terminal. “The Centurion Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport is a strong addition to our global network, giving eligible Card Members a taste of New Jersey’s history while delivering the premium experience and amenities that have become synonymous with the Centurion Lounges,” said Audrey Hendley, President of American Express Travel. As with all American Express Centurion lounges, all of the services are complimentary to eligible card members, including those with an American Express Platinum or Centurion card. There will be a space for families with small children along with premium restrooms and shower suites. Throughout the lounge, there will be artifacts and antiques that celebrate New Jersey’s culture.Īlong with the unique New Jersey-inspired details, the lounge will also provide classic Centurion amenities such as several seating areas, dedicated workspaces, and complimentary food and beverage offerings with a menu inspired by local cuisine. It will also include a jazz bar and piano lounge with live music as an ode to New Jersey’s jazz history. With 17,000 square feet of space, the new lounge will feature an indoor terrace with views of the airfield and the Manhattan skyline. In addition, it will complete the card issuers’ presence at the New York region’s three biggest airports. When the lounge opens in 2026, it will be the only one branded by a credit card within the newly opened Terminal A.
